It's not convenient but they are aware. I'm sure billions of beta testers already reported that back to Apple.
You could say millions, not billions.

Renaming folders works fine here

I can't. I shouldn't have tried restoring to fix some of the crashing on my iPod.
Can't rename folders. Can't wait until the he second beta.

Just report it and move on. Lots of little stuff to tweak, but they can’t fix what they aren’t told about.
I am doing just that. I am allowed to be annoyed with little bugs and such. I know it will be fixed eventually.
I have the correct ipsw file. It was working almost perfectly before I restored. That's odd. Try downloading the beta from another source and make sure you have the right model for your device
Really? I just renamed a couple after seeing your post. No problem for me.
I now know why Apple locks down iOS betas to developers and doesn't open them to the public. Everybody who doesn't understand what a beta is would be whining all over the App Store and on help forums.
When you search for an app in the App Store, instead of sliding left to right, you scroll down.
The funny thing is, I have more crashes on iOS 8 B1 than on iOS 7 and my diagnostics and usage data list was longer on iOS 7.
I really think your downloaded ipsw file became corrupted while downloading it. You should really try downloading it again

Um, from reading these forums, one has to wonder if the the betas weren?t actually open to the public.
