Could Apple skip 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1?
There was a rumored 7.0.3 suppose to land last week according to BGR. There was also suppose to be a beta 7 according to BGR so we know their sources aren't worth a grain of salt. With that said, I'm starting to wonder if Apple might skip a iOS 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1 for the iPad launch and release that across all devices. Also, we have always seen betas for 4.1/5.1/6.1 so Apple would have to throw a curveball at us skipping betas altogether for 7.1. Obviously a 7.0.3 could always drop tomorrow making this thread a moot point.
What are your thoughts?

I thought 7.0.3 would be out by now...

Re: Could Apple skip 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1?
I'm thinking the iMessages bug was fixed on the backend so there wasn't as much of a reason to have 7.0.3.

I thought this too, since I haven't had any hangups in the last couple weeks when I was usually getting it at least once a day.

I wouldn't be surprised if they do

Not for me, iMessages wouldn't send for me for about an hour yesterday.

There are many bugs that needs to be addressed still outside of iMessage.

I think 7.1 is next personally

I'm sure bug fixes will be rolled into whatever release number they call it. But if the most urgent one (iMessages) didn't require a release and they have another one already coming up soon, they may have decided just to wait. I was not implying there were no other bugs to fix.

I've never had issues with iMessages. I wouldn't be surprised if the next release is 7.1.

I always read about imessge issues but since ios5 I've only had a problem once and it was for about half an hour...

Re: Could Apple skip 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1?
All my iMessages issues were magically fixed a few days ago. I was having it go down 2-3 times a day since iOS 7.0.2 released, and it's been up fully for the past few days. My guess is 7.1 coming in a week or 2.

I heard 7.1 was going to bring back the old UI. :p ;) :D
My iMessages have been working for a week now - after acting up several times per day, I'd definitely say they fixed it on the server.

I never did either but my biggest issue is a widespread 5s issue that we discussed here. http://forums.imore.com/iphone-5s/26...ppy-laggy.html

i don't think so 7.1 .. should be 7.0.3 for current fixes like i message

Re: Could Apple skip 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1?
Seeing how buggy 7.0.2 is, whatever they do they ought to do really quick. But I guess Apple, owing to its size, is beyond the point where they need to care about users' problems any more. Think of 90s Microsoft as a comparison point. iOS 7 is still effectively in beta and users are paying for its hasted, botched-up development process.

Of course, that's why they released 7.0.1 and 7.0.2 within weeks of 7.0s release. They must hate us all.

Re: Could Apple skip 7.0.3 and go straight to 7.1?
Why is everyone expecting something big from a X.X.1/2/3 update. Its a small for number for a reason, and that is minor and major bug fixes. NO new features.

iMessage seems to have been fixed server side so no release needed.

I hope they do something. My iPhone has just started acting up in the last 2 days. It has crashed 3 times now doing completely different things in that time span. I can also enter 3 digits of my unlock code before it plays a single sound that I tapped the screen.
Might go to the Apple Store tomorrow.
