Just wanted to see how people made the switch to iOS7... as I've been wondering if there is any correlation between bugs/issues, and how the software was loaded to the device.

For the record, I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS7 early this morning. I used iTunes, downloaded the software, backed up my device, then did a Restore & Update.

iTunes. Backed up first. For my iPad I had to restore it first, since it was jail broken. Can't see much use for that now.

OTA ,a few minutes after it came out . It took more or less 50 mn from start to finish .

As I found the battery was not great , yesterday I did a clean install and it seems to do a lot better . 18h on Standby & 4h of use and 61% left .

The only thing I'm not crazy about is the notification center .

OTA on both my iPhone 5 and iPad 3. No issues at all. The iPhone was set up new that day and the iPad was backed up to the iCloud and then I installed iOS 7.

Via iTunes, if only because I wanted to do a local Backup as well as have the iCloud version. A bit of 'belt and suspenders' really. Also, I understood that iTunes was going to need an update as well to run iOS 7, so thought I'd just do all this in one go.

OTA on my 5 and iTunes on my girlfriends and Cousins i4 no problems at all

IOS7 is surprisingly rock solid even on the i4 there hasn't been no lag or bugs that I can find. Usually my GF complains about everything about her phone but I haven't heard a peep from her

My upgrade story isn't the conventional one. I decided to give Android one last shot mainly due to the larger screen of the Moto X and sold my iPhone 5. Long story short, the Moto X is a great phone but Android just doesn't do things as easily or smoothly as iOS. I ended up replacing the iPhone 5 with a 5c and vowed not to go back to Android. iOS may not have the flexibility or customization of Android (what initially lured me to Android multiple times), but over the years I've realized I don't care about that any more. At this point, only a more mature Windows Phone 8 could potentially sway me from using iOS going forward.

OTA shortly after it was released. It took about 45 minutes and I've had zero issues so far (hope I didn't jinx it by saying that). Still loving iOS 7!

OTA. I hit the button right at 1 pm on Wednesday. Took about 2 hours, but I was at work and wifi signal wasn't the greatest. No issues so far.

I apologize for the noob question, but when you say restore as new, does that mean you do a hard reset and reload all your apps and settings manually?

BTW, I installed OTA, but then I did a hard reset and restored from iCloud.

Basically, yes or connect it to iTunes and then select restore, and after it boots up, set up as a new device and not from a backup. I even go as far as remove the ipsw file to the trashbin, put my device in DFU mode and then restore. It causes iTunes to download a fresh copy of the latest iOS version and install it, but that's "my personal" preference...
