iTunes 11.1 on Windows 8 not recognizing iPad 3 running iOS 7 GM

Hi there, I have downloaded the new iTunes and am a non-developer running iOS 7 GM. Up until updating iTunes just now, 11.05 was recognizing my iPad and giving me the expected error message that I needed 11.1. Now that I have 11.1, it is not recognizing the iPad at all, but the computer is. I don't know what to do or where to start in trying to fix this and would appreciate any help.

Restart the computer... and restart the iPad while the computer is booting.
