No more widgets?

So I take it that apple is getting rid of widgets in iOS7? I think the idea, if implemented well can still work. I just really miss the share widget with facebook and twitter in the notification center. Really convenient. I also was hoping for a customizable news ticker, or even open up the api for developers to incorporate widgets with their apps. Oh well....
