I would certainly think reading this that the Smartphone Platform is a bit skewed in one direction with the D.O.D. but still an interesting read

Blackberry is still king is U.S. Government circles and many of those people don't have the time to learn a new device or OS and thus, will continue to use Blackberry devices as long as they can.

So it just goes to prove that BB is king in some places. D.O.D. government - where the money is spent.

Well, the article did state: "The US D.O.D. currently has about 470,000 BlackBerrys in use across its networks, with 41,000 Apple mobile devices and 8,700 Android devices."

Yes a staggering number for BB but I am sure that sector and RIM work totally autonamous of the public sector and the software they have to have and operating system is very secure and complex just like when BHO insisted he have his BB. It had to be completely redone for security.
I think also that id said they were opening up more for IOS and Android devices although they would have to be govt. issue and not personal devices just brought from home.
