Apple asks for password everytime

When I get on App Store (IOS 6 iPhone 4S) and try to download an app it asks for my apple I'd password I thought on iOS 6 you do not have to put it in everytime
(Same with my iPod touch 4g)

It should only ask for your password when you download a new app. A password is not required when updating apps you already have or when downloading previously purchased apps.

Did you set it up in Settings>> iTunes & App Stores>> and enter your AppleID & Password?

Mine was doing this as well yesterday, very frustrating. Today however the problem is gone like a thief on the night. Makes me wonder if it ever really happened at all.
