Unable to update to ios 6

Hi,
I have an iPad 2 running on ios 5.1.1 so I was trying to update to ios 6 and after sometime it told me that Software update failed. I tried 2 times but can't update.Now I'm trying 3rd time. I don't know what's happening. Why is this happening ?

Prob too many people trying at once lol hard rest your iPad try again if not then use iTunes

I, too, suggest that you update via iTunes on your computer. iTunes will back up your device for you, download iOS 6, install it and then restore your backup settings and apps to how they were prior to the update.

If you're using a jailbroken device, the only way to update (as far as I can tell), is to restore via iTunes - you can't do it OTA

I can vouch for this. I could not update OTA my iPhone 4S until I tried it with iTunes.

On iTunes, the update also failed until I set phone to recovery mode and did a restore to factory settings. After the update, I was able to restore my previous backup and all is well.

If you're using a jailbroken device, the only way to update (as far as I can tell), is to restore via iTunes - you can't do it OTA

that is the ONLY way i would want to do it AND Restore as New iPhone. no brainer

Yup started from scratch. was easy enough to sync up accounts again and application.

No issues. ZERO

I had to abandon OTA, it would just stall at like 25% into the download, and eventually I just did it on my computer because I think it was just everyone trying at the same time.

Yup reports are Apple servers are still crushing today.....
