I'm hearing that people who restored their phones after putting 5.0.1 on, that it fixed battery issues.
My question is, if my 4S has 5.0.1 on, what is the procedure to do this restore?

Plug it in and click restore. Don't choose restore from backup. This will lose your saved settings, game progress and the like.

All I can say is that it worked for me with my 4s. I had serious battery drain after upgrading to 5.0.1.
Synced, restored and then synced from back-up - battery problem gone! I wasn't obsessively tracking my battery before the upgrade, but it is (anecdotally) better than it was with 5.0 - more on a par with my iPhone 4.

New to IPhone from BB. When you restore did you get all your settings etc. back?

if you restore from backup you do but if you restore from backup you can pull the problem right back onto your phone sometimes.

That screen after you select set up as new phone that has 2 checks one to sync bookmarks, calender, mail, etc and the other check to sync apps does it matter if I keep them checked to sync or not?

I was curious if that had something to do with battery life if something was curriouped with a link or contact or something.
