I have been enrolled in the dev program for about 6 months now and have never had a problem downloading software until tonight. I downloaded the new version of IOS5 and it was unable to activate my phone through Itunes??? Never had this issue before so I am not sure what to do. I have went back to the portal and made sure my device was still registered and it is. Any helpful info???

why does this seem like you just have access to the dev program for beta software?

I haven't been on the dev site lately, but check if there is a newer beta version of iTunes than the one you are running.

This is a known issue at the moment. I was surprised mine worked since my registered UDID was from an i4 and I updated the 4s.

Jeffnucci, this post wasnt meant for your smart@ss comments. You do not know me so do not assume.

I realized that after checking the dev forums, I just went back to 5.0. Apples states the activation process will be corrected soon. Thanks

I did it as a restore, it told me it couldn't active my phone and the register my phone, I registered it in Xcode and it worked fine.

On XP, put your phone in DFU mode and open Itunes and just restore. It will download 5.0 to your phone automatically from apples servers and after that you can just hit update to get the 5.0.1 instead of trying to restore again.

Did mine as a restore and it worked fine, so that's not the issue.

Beamed over the interwebz from my iPhone 4S using Siri.

Not true. I did mine as a restore (shift + restore in iTunes), and then restored from my backup.

I tried through Update + Option .ipsw. It gave me several errors 1659 was one of em. Also putting my phone DFU mode got it to work. So technically I had to restore my phone. For the first time ever I restored my phone with iCloud, felt longer than usual. So it kinda sucked haha!

Many many people got stuck at activation on restore. DFU got them out and then update worked. Maybe some got through but that was a issue and Apple may have fixed it. They acknowledged there were problems.
