I just don't understand why apple would allow for cloud syncing with google's calendar, but not their contacts. It just does not make sense to me. All I want to do is be able to sync with my google contacts and am getting more and more worried that there is no way to do this with IOS5, or at least without creating duplicate contacts. Can anyone help me out please?

Just add your Google account. I had no problem getting them on my iPad 2.

I already have a google account because I sync my calendar with google. So it won't let me. When I am in my google settings it does not give me the option to sync contacts.

You have to setup a Google push account on IOS. You can then get your contacts.
