iOS 5 - update issue

hey guys , on 12th I updated my 3GS to iOS 5 .. while updating it said making back-up .. but after I set up iOS 5 .. I found that my iphone was wiped completely ! Can anyone help me ? I mean there has to be a file of the backup ?

When you have your iPhone plugged into iTunes, right click on it and choose restore from backup. If it doesn't have a backup to pull from....uh oh.
