Screen goes on for all Notifications?

Everytime I get an email with the phone locked, the screen lights up. Is there a way to disable this?

Settings>notifications>mail>view on lock screen turned to off. I also set alert style to none. My emails aren't so important that I need more than a badge to alert me. Hope this helps.

I would like to view it on the lock screen when I turn the phone on. I dont want the screen turning on by itself though.
