I've tried to see if its live but my phone has been saying its up to date with ios5 the last 2 or 3 days I've checked. Is there anyway to tell without plugging a phone in that doesn't have ios5 if its live yet or not.

The last time I tried was at 3:30 central time and no update then.

I seem to remember iOS4 came out around 10amPST. That's typical Apple release time. I myself am waiting for OS X 10.7.2 so I can have full iCloud support. I've been running the iOS5 GM since Friday.

If you're already on iOS 5, you're not going to be notified that there's anything new. You already have what they're waiting for.

It's 11.45am here in the UK and no update yet. I'll keep checking but I guess if people are saying it'll be 10am PST it'll be about 6pm here before I get an update

I believe both iOS 3 and 4 came around 1pm EST. I remember attempting to update my 3GS on my lunch break last year and the servers beings so overwhelmed. My lunch break was coming to an end and I had to spend the rest of the work day with a bricked phone.

I'm running the GM version and out of curiosity I wanted to check the software update option on the phone. The message I got was "unable to check for update" anyone else get this?

Yes, I got it too from my iPad. They must be updating the servers, or there is an overload of olds trying to do the same thing.

I am still under the impression that over-the-air updates won't work with this final build, and if you're already running the GM there shouldn't be an update for you unless Apple issued one after the GM.

I was thinking that as well, that they maybe updating the servers. I think you're about there not being any OTA updates for this version. I just wanted to see what would happened though.
