I have read several times that keeping electronics (especially phones and tablets) at 100% charged can damage them. Maybe that's why?

You might want to consider checking in your settings to see if "Optimized Battery Charging" is toggled on. For anyone who needs to check this, go to Settings>Battery>Battery Health>Optimized Battery Charging. If the toggle is white, tap it to turn it on. When it's on, the toggle should be green.

I do not see that setting. Here is what I see.

Are you referring to iPhone or iPad - my mini4 iPad does not show Battery Health, but it never has...

I think optimized charging is hardware related. My 9.7 IPP doesn’t have it either. I know the 7 Plus had it but unsure of earlier devices.

Optimised Charging and Battery Health are iPhone only features. The OP is using an iPad and they are not present on those.

You are so right. I am referring to iPad Pro. So the one reply would make sense about nit charging to 100%.

That really only applies to laptops, when they are run for weeks/months at a time while plugged in.

Phones and tablets are used on battery all the time. Charged to 100% then used all day long is not an issue. It is 100% for a couple hours at best.

Then I will charge my other iPad to see if that hits 100%. If not then the charger/or cable would be the problem.

Good information on that web page.

Let us know what you find out. Sometimes the cable or charger is the culprit!

Never had issues other than space/size for iphone cubes or iPad blocks ( which is why I use Griffin dual USB 12W) but it must be climate - temperature related here in the tropics,- which kills Apple cables - they simply don't last. I use decent cabling ( Griffin cloth wrapped USB-Lightning, or USB-USB A for charge pads) at half the cost of Apple, but lasting much longer than  which deteriorate badly in less than a year.

Well the other iPad the one with the older iOS version charged to 100%. The one that I originally wrote about charged to 98% this time.
