New FaceTime Interface Tips?

So I'm not a fan of the new FaceTime interface. I feel as though it's not as intuitive as it once was. Specifically, when bringing up the menu to switch cameras (which used to be extremely easy) I now struggle minimizing it back down. I tap the bar at the top and it does nothing. I swipe down and it does nothing. I have to make several attempts for it to be minimized back down.

Anyone have any tips on what I may be doing wrong? Or is anyone else experiencing this issue?

Same issue here. Don't like the FaceTime update at all.

I can't even tell you when the last time I used FaceTime, but I suppose I'll FaceTime one of my sons and test the new interface.

On the bright side glad to know it’s not just me. On the other side, I hope Apple addresses this.

I just don't understand who thought this was a good idea? I'd imagine now that iOS 12 is out for general release, this might be a larger issue. Guess we will see.

Is it my idea or did they completely remove the picture button? At least I can’t find it. I often take pictures of my nieces while we FaceTime.
