    Hi, my friend got his 1st iphone (6S), second hand, very god condition.
    What happens is: IMessage activation fails!
    Can’t use IMessage (and FaceTime).

    Called Apple, called his network, nothing helps.

    Reset network settings, reset everything...
    Today we put the iphone in DFU mode and installed a fresh iOS 11 from iTunes. Still fails.
    Any help will be very appreciated!

    I’m going to assume that the device was connected to the internet at the time of the attempted activation.

    Anyway, try using your Apple ID and passcode to see if you’re able to sign in to iMessage on your friend’s device. If you cannot then I’m not sure we can assist you, especially if Apple was unable to assist.

    Did the previous owner sign out of iCloud before getting rid of the device?

    Strange. Is it a stolen device? Did you try signing in on a different device?
