Photos lost because dev hasnt updated app

Hello

I had around 100 photos in a photo organiser app downloaded from the app store. But the developer hasnt updated it to ios11, so i cant even open the app. Its not on the app store any more. Is there any way i can retrieve the images?

Did those photos originate from your phone camera?
Did the app have some sort of backup method?

Which album app is it? I have one called MyPhoto by Tidy Inc. It's 32 bit and won't work on iOS 11. I'm on iOS 10.1.1. Is that the one you had?

Its called “Albums” by Hedonic ... yes this one is also 32 bit

I guess the only option is downgrade to ios10, extract the images, then upgrade again but im not sure if the ios11 backup will work on ios10

You can't downgrade to iOS 10. Apple no longer signs it. I don't see a way to retrieve your photos. You might in the future use cloud based apps like Box and Dropbox. If you want a local album app, I suggest MyPics.

If the OP knows somebody with an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5c, and if he has an old iOS 10 backup stored somewhere in iTunes, he might be able to restore to that device, which cannot go past iOS 10.x.
