Turning off last application option

So can anyone please tell me how I can disable the option of switching to the last application that shows up in the right hand top corner, where it says search ?

I find it very useful.
If you don’t want to see it there because you’re not gonna go back to the app where you came from, simply go to home screen and launch the app you’re currently using. You will see your carrier name again in that corner.

I find it annoying when I use reach ability and have to go to the top of the screen, but is their no way to disable it rather then do that ?

I’m not sure. I didn’t see an option to disable it.
To avoid that to appear, rather go to the app from home screen instead of through a notification.
