I could haven sworn it was said there was going to be an option to delete iMessage messages on one device, and it sync to all devices.

    No?

Maybe in a later iOS version. As of now it’s not yet possible.

It’s apparently coming with the Apple Cash update later.

Still no delete iMessage message on one device, and have it sync / delete on all other devices? This was announced back on June 5, 2017 at WWDC Keynote and was coming with iOS 11.

It was part of some the early betas and Apple removed it to work on some issues. I would really like it back myself.

I definitely hope they bring this back. I really liked being able to delete individual messages, and not the entire "chain".

Ha! Just shortly after I comment, I see that it is back in for iOS 11.3. Hopefully they worked out the bugs and it stays in this time.

It’s also in the 11.3 developer beta that was just released earlier today if I’m not mistaken. It uses iCloud to sync messages.

It works pretty well from what I can see. As soon as I delete a conversation off my iPhone it instantly deletes on my iPad.

Oh I hope they don’t remove it from 11.3. It’s really irritating to have to manage it across multiple devices.

Maybe it's just me, but I kinda don't want it to delete across all devices. I keep my iPhone and iPad messages cleaned up, but it's nice to open iMessage on my MBP and look back at info in a conversation.

Syncing messages is an iCloud setting, so you can keep the sync off and it will remain as it is now.

I look forward to syncing myself, in part for the deletes, but mostly so I can set up a device as new and have all of my message history.
