Depends on device. I have a 6S and 6. Didn't look at size for my 6.

Once you update to GM there won’t be an update outside of beta. The GM is the official release build. Otherwise yes, your statement is correct. You’ll be able to continue updating to official releases from the GM.

Late to the game but finally got around to putting the beta profile on my 6 plus today. Downloading beta 9 now. DSL and 2 gig files suck.

I find PB8 to be smoother. Sometimes the animations slow down on my 7 Plus running PB9.
