Hi, can anyone tell me if you can use any app in slide over in iOS 11 or is it only certain ones as in iOS 10? Thanks x

It's a multi tasking feature on the iPad. It exists on iOS 10 but only certain apps are compatible. I wondered if that might have changed in iOS 11

Thanks for the explanation. As I don’t have an iPad, I can’t answer this question for you.
Hopefully someone who come will come along and reply in this thread.

Took me awhile to figure this out on IOS 11 on my iPad Air. You have to have an app open full screen and then drag the app you want to slide over from the new dock. Drag up from the bottom of the screen to see the dock. You cant just swipe from the right like you could on IOS 10.

It just takes some playing around to see what apps work and what apps don’t. All the apps that work are the ones that you want to add to the dock. If you have too many for the dock just create a folder and put a folder with some in the dock then when you tap on the folder it pops up to the middle of the screen and you can then choose which app you want from it to use split screen.

Remember that this is just a beta and just like some apps don’t currently work in IOS 11 there’s a chance that some of the apps that don’t currently work in split screen will work by the time the final version of IOS 11 is released.

Has anyone else tried to use Slide Over with the iOS 11 public beta v1 with the 2015 First Gen 12.9" iPad Pro? I'm not a frequent user of slide over, but when I tried using it, it dosen't seem to work.

Every time I try to swipe up on the screen while an app like safari is open, instead of overlaying the dock on top of the app, it goes into app switching mode, not allowing me to multitask. I've only tried this with Apple's own applications on the iPad, and I've checked my multitasking settings, making sure that they're all set to be on.

Is this a bug that still needs to be fixed or has someone else gotten this to work?

Why are you still on beta version 1? Beta version 2 fixed many bugs.

Hold your finger on the app i the dock for a second and then you can drag it up.

Worked like a charm with safari open and then dragging mail up until the icon extended then letting it go then the edges came up to work in split view
