    Isn't iOS always released on the day iPhones are announced? Not the release date of the phones?
    No. Only GM copy to Devs. Public release the following week.

    It used to be 2 days before the new phones were released. Usually on the Wednesday before. They may have strayed from that.

    Yes this is correct. The only think I see that could change that this year is if the event is 9/12 but new phones don’t release for a few weeks. But yes, otherwise you nailed it.
