iOS 10.1.1 Text Box in Safari still doesn't move with cursor

Why is this still a thing? it always worked in every iOS version before 10 and now when typing on a forum in Safari one must advance the text box manually. Reminds me of typing on a broken typewriter that won't advance itself.

This is a known issue and still exists in 10.2. beta 1.

Seriously?! That's ridiculous. I honestly wonder if the behavior is intentional, because they should've had it fixed many versions ago, back before public release even.

I have always used the next or back arrow on my iPhone to move between text fields. On my iPad, I have a physical keyboard and use the tab button to advance or shift tab to go back a text field. Works fine for me on iOS 10.
