Changing pop up emojis

While typing an text, if I use the word "run", the little male runner pops up in the word completion line (that's probably not what you call that). Is there a way to change that to the female runner from the word completion line or in the text line or do you just have to go into the emoji page and insert her that way?

When I type the word "runner", I see both male & female.

Interesting, same here. Runner, running both bring up both male and female but not run. however, if you space after either, runner or running the female one goes away. I usually use the emojis that pop up in addition to the word itself so that space would be a killer in that respect.
