Checking Down/Upload speeds using MyWi 4.0

I run MyWi 4.0 (v4.52.2) on my iPhone to access the internet on my notebook over AT&T's 3G network.

I use SpeedTest.net to check download/upload speeds when on this tethered connection. What I don't understand is why SpeedTest.net suggests I perform this test against a server that's located in Wichita, KS when I'm physically in Raleigh, NC.

Is this right? Am I the only one? Any wisdom that can make sense of this will be greatly appreciated.
