    One of my local news stations did a report back in 1996 on "Video Phones", which connected your 56k phone dial up connection to some software and a then new peace of hardware known as a webcam, and you could chat back and forth between friends or family. $2500 for the computer, plus $200 for the webcam.

    I do wonder how many failed to relize that the other person needed a "video phone" in order for this new technology to "work" That is, if they wanted a two way conversation.

    eh eh eh

    Just think 15 years later, you would be able to actually have a "video phone" that can be used across multiple devices, even handheld ones. Shows you how far we have come.

    Well they said the webcam would cost $200. thats how much a 16GB iPhone 4 with facetime is today.
