some southwest flights its free. i believe there are 3 or 4 planes that they are testing it on. if you happen to be lucky to get on it they dont charge but i believe the charge is going to be around $20 when it becomes avaliable on all their flights

Yea Southwest is testing and if you get a plane with it right now it's free. I was actually on a Luftansa flight 4 years ago going on a trip to Europe and they had wifi on the plane for free. But alas there was no iPhone then.

I think there are a few other US carriers testing it out also.

It was $9.99 for the flight or you can pay $12.99 for 24 hours. Also, it's cheaper for mobile device vs laptop. I wonder if you could change the browser details sent out from firefox to save a couple bucks...have to try that next time

I normally fly AA, but really liked the Delta flight. AA has gogo as well, but I've never been on an AA plane equipped with it.

The last few Delta flights I've been on have offered WiFi for $$, and for lengthy flights I would certainly take advantage of it. Alas, there is no Southwest flying into or out of any airports near me.

Just be careful with the info you send. From what i've read the network is not secure or it is with little encription. With the right tools and knowledge, someone may be abel to intercept what you xmt.

I was just on an American Airlines flight. It was 12.99 for the inflight wireless. Not bad but I assume the prices will go down or it will be a free service over time.
