New Animal Crossing: New Horizons patch makes it safe to go fishing again

Getting a little tired of the number of eggs you're finding in Animal Crossing: New Horizons? Fortunately, Nintendo has listened to the community and update v1.1.4 is out today with a fix to the spawn rate.

My wife has animal crossing game cartridge, and my son and I run it from a download. My wife has never triggered zipper; no bunny, no egg trees, no egg fish, balloons, no bunny day dialogue from NPCs. It’s like the updates never got installed, but the startup screen says 1.1.4. She has played every day starting on March 23. Her switch date/time is correct; she has never tried any time travel. I deleted the update files to force them to be redownloaded, but no change. My son and myself have had no problems. I reported this to Nintendo but have not received a reply.
Has anyone else heard of this problem?
