    Yes, if you're using the Apple Watch primarily for health and fitness, the Apple Watch series 2 is still a good option, and it continues to support regular updates from Apple. On the other hand, if you need a smartwatch with cellular data that can function independently of your iPhone, then you'll want a more advanced model.

    I'm guessing this was an old article that was "updated" and re-used. Otherwise, I can't understand why it would recommend buying a Series 2 Apple Watch if you don't need a Series 3 with cellular. The link in the article to a Series 2 on Amazon goes to a "renewed" Series 2 that is $199 (or $10 more expensive than the Series 3 model that is the GPS/Wifi). Unless you can find it way cheaper somewhere, there wouldn't be any reason to choose a Series 2 over a Series 3 GPS/Wifi model.
