Big fan of Lastpass here. I like that Lastpass syncs across all devices for the same $12/year.

No it will store passwords, sure, but what if you need them on a Windows machine? How would you access the passwords in keychain to use them in an app like Amazon? Or Twitter?

No, Keychain only saves passwords used in Safari. Also, apps like 1Password can store other things like DR number, SS number and other things. It also has other features Keychain doesn't have.

Lastpass has those too with extra security if you want. Very handy and way more secure than Notes app

Lastpass has folders / categories too but I just use the spotlight style search. Too many to organize the search is super quick.

I love 1Password. It's Touch ID compatible and integrates well with iOS. It syncs with iCloud, which apparently not even the FBI can get into.

Same with Lastpass but for less. Same encryption, too. Not sure I understand the extra costs for each license. I use Lastpass at work on a PC, home on a Mac, and on the go on iOS. All for the same $12. How much would that be for 1Password?
Then again I spent $200 on a doorbell (Ring) and you just bought one for $9 so different strokes I guess

Over the years, I've gone from mSecure to DataVault to 1Password. Although I've used DataVault the longest, I've been using 1Password for the past couple of years or so.

I wasn't recommending one over the other, just telling OP what I use.

I can remember up to maybe 20 or so fairly well. But I have over 140 passwords for various stuff. Some I know, but most I tend to not recall.

Well, I use a different password for everything. News organizations, games, social media ( 5 Twitter and 3 Facebook), apps, forums (14), etc.

A few months ago an online retailer account of mine was hacked into. Luckily I got an email and shut the account down very quickly but from there I realized that I was using that same email & password combination for a bunch of sites. I ended up on a mass password changing spree, in the middle of my work day, and the guy still managed to get into a few other accounts. All because I was using the same password.
So, yes. It's hard to remember passwords because I use something different for every web site. You should too.

If you want to make them all the same or poorly formulated sure. But if you want strong passwords, unique for every site and service, they're much harder to remember.

Another vote for 1Password. Have been using it for a couple years now both on my iPhone and Macs. Love its syncing abilities between all my devices. Little pricey but when you look at what it can do and how it works, the price does not look so unattractive anymore. Cross platform as well.

AgileBits has been running 1Password free for a couple of weeks or so.
