Google has officially announced its long-rumored subscription service for its YouTube division. YouTube Red will launch on Oct. 28 and will allow subscribers to watch videos without adds, along with downloading videos to watch offline and more for $12.99 a month.

For those that only read headlines and not the body of the post, it's $12.99 if you subscribe through an in-app purchase on iOS. The service is $9.99 signing up outside of the App Store. Both equally not as worth it, but just wanted to throw that in there.

I'd never pay $9.99 for YouTube Red alone, but as a current Google Play Music subscriber, I welcome the additional perks
