Otterbox Replace

Has anyone had to deal with otterbox replacing a broken case & how did it turn out ? I recently broke my otterbox commuter case by attempting to remove it & the plastic piece snapped in half. I was told they'll send me a new one if I submit a picture of my full name, address & the damaged case in which I did so. Will I have to pay the full price of the case, shipping & etc. ? If so, it'll be easier to just go buy a new one. I also heard they'll send me a new one for free.

I've done this and never had to pay anything. They send you a new one out. I've also never had to return the old one they just told me to keep it.

I've never broken an otterbox but I hear their warranty department is great

They're sending me a new plastic back cover piece. Probably the best customer service I've had in awhile.
