Facebook moving users to dedicated Messenger app to chat

It was a few months ago that we reported Facebook would be killing in-app messaging. Facebook instead prefers users to chat with the dedicated Facebook Messenger app. Facebook is now notifying users that transition will happen over the next few days.

I don't know anyone personally who uses WhatsApp. So I don't.

I'm seeing a lot of people not liking this change by Facebook. They especially don't like the notification alert sound that goes "Ding".

Yep, I uninstalled Facebook from both my 5S and iPad and installed a third party app that doesn't suck as much.

I use Friendly+. I have 3 accounts, so I can put them all on one app. 4 accounts counting my wife's. I know! I have to do all her stuff for her like changing the cover photo. Friendly+ comes in color themes.

Just got this:

The version of Facebook on my iPod is 12.1 but the one on my iPhone is 9.0 so I wonder if both will be affected.
