I'm waiting on the following threads to be created by iMore:

1. How to get information on accepting Christ as your Lord and Savior using your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

2. How to get information on Killing an unborn baby using your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV

3. How to get information on running a dogfighting ring as well as how to inhumanely dispose of the losing dog via your iPhone, iPad and Apple TV.

;)

It feels wrong to laugh at this comment but it's down right hilarious. Best comment I've read in a while

There are plenty of places to find porn without posting it on iMore. I don't think that the average reader will say "I'm going to iMore and find out where to get porn".

With all due respect, that is irrelevant.

When someone who doesn't know about iMore searches on how to look up porn on their iDevice, there is now a greater chance for iMore to be recognized and bring that person over here. A new reader. Just because someone is looking to see how they can load porn, it doesn't mean that's all they're interested in. You can pick up readers. I'd be worried if iMore had an article on where to load necrophilia on your iDevice. Those aren't the type of people I'd really want to interact with on here. Someone who watches porn? Eh, it's not that big a deal.

The reason why I like (good) blogging is because it's not uniformed. Stepping out of the realm sometimes isn't such a bad thing. And let's remember one thing: it's not like iMore posts a porn blog every week. It happened one time. It's not something that keeps being repeated. They got some heat when they posted something about Apple supporting the gay marriage bill. Plenty of people left some comments (including some people in this very thread who were opposed to gay marriage) that I didn't agree with, but it didn't drive me away from interacting.

My point is this?.If seeing a thread that mentions links to viewing porn for free on our Apple devices are an overreaction by some who prefer to keep their favorite tech site as it is then seeing threads being created in regard to the subject matter I mentioned above should be viewed likewise. Personally, I wouldn't be affected because I have the discipline to ignore it or not click on the link(s), and I'd like to think that a majority of others do to. Having said that, there are some subjects that get people all riled up just by a mere mention of them - porn, dogfighting, religion & abortion - to name a few. That is what happened here in this thread, I believe. I was the first to respond and I was like, "what the heck is this crap?" Had I not noticed that it was an in-house thread, I would have infracted it as SPAM/pornagraphic material and banned the OP?.lol? If you've been here long enough, you've seen threads created, especially those regarding politics and religion, where they were almost immediately closed or thoroughly cleansed of comments because they were deemed "offensive" and "doesn't belong here". We have an "off-topic" forum -- meaning non-technical. Having said that, who all think that porn, as it was originally discussed via the initial post in this thread, should be okay in the off-topic forum? I think it could be because the off-topic forum is clearly telling everyone that they are now venturing into a non-technical section of iMore. What say you?

I wouldn't have a problem with it being discussed in the off-topic forum. Just as long as it doesn't get derogatory or inappropriate.

Well said Darrick. I feel the same way. I'm not a prude porn doesn't bother me. I do feel though there is a place for it and "in my opinion this is not it" that's it just how I feel.

The people that don't like the thread have been very civil in my opinion talking and getting along. The people who are for it seem to be the one getting more pissed off than anyone.

Like most of you pointed out. If you don't like what we are posting don't read it.

It's also not the primarily purpose of a gas station convenience store to carry pornography, but they do it because someone might come in and want it. And we're talking a discussion here ABOUT porn, not the actual porn itself! LOL!

Some people tend toward the aggressive and argumentative, that's just their nature.

Why does someone want to watch other people have sex? IMO, there is something sick about that. I know that people have rights, but that is just wrong. But, to each his own.
