Yes but mods are getting the heat to remove it and rightfully so. I was more a less just reminding everyone that you guys are doing your best to resolve the heat and get past this as you have just done in your direct message to Rene. Which was well written I might add

First, let me say that I have not received any requests to remove any part of this thread. Personally, the thread did not offend me or upset me. That being said I do understand why some people are upset or disappointed. If a member decides to leave, it is their right. I hope that they re-think their decision. I believe strongly that the only way to make a change is by doing it from within. iMore and the Mobile Nations communities are here for all of its members.

Some things are better left unsaid.
That's kind of how I feel about the nature of this thread.

Users of any type of device can on their own find out how to do many things and get many things on their own. Whether it's of a sensitive nature or a illegal nature.

Discover what you will on your own.
Some things are better left for their own discovery.

Finding porn on the internet is as easy as finding ice in Antarctica.
You don't need a map. It kind of deserves the response of saying "Really?"
Honestly nobody needs this. And I don't mean that as a being offended by porn. I mean it as it's really to simple to need to be guided through.

Jesus christ, lol...you'd think Rene came on here in black face and gave us a link to watch a smut film about kids having sex with goats.

I mean, the way some of you have responded in this thread, I can't imagine your reaction when you go into a gas station that offers porno mags next to the candy aisle...do you call the police and have a protest outside?

Sure, some people are not as accepting of pornography as others, they feel it's something "evil" and that "nothing good can come from" it (that one made me laugh a bit), but this isn't church folks, this isn't an elementary school classroom or a daycare center playground...we're in the real world here, we're in a place where we talk about murder, drugs, sex, rock & roll, movies, video games, TV shows, food, technology...and yes, porno.

Don't want to be exposed to such topics? Then get off the internet...because it's ALL around you. I'm curious where someone saw a "Family Friendly Community" banner floating on iMore when they signed up, because I sure as sh*t didn't. Do I expect a vulgar experience here? Not at all, and that's primarily because we have a pretty intelligent core of members here...but every once in a while a subject like this will pop up, and people will get all **** hurt over it, and for god's sake...let's refocus here guys, it's an article, not a testament to what iMore represents fully.

Now I'm going to go back to watching Ghostbusters...dammit people...CHILL OUT!

Looks like I missed this thread had to read it from the start so it took me a little while

I read the article when it came out and I didn't think much of it as this doesn't bother me but after reading all the talking points I we have to say this is the best Forum on the net and I'm a member of many we can discuss how we feel and respect our fellow members opinions this is evident in the cross Likes to each others posts 👍

I'm just disappointed. I came to iMore from Android Central only to discover things at iMore are very different and not in a good way. I keep hoping though. I've seen posts about how I might use my phone for sex and now how I can get porn on my phone. Is this what iMore thinks they have to do to attract readers or is some of the readership here actually looking for this kind of content. Next it will be a discussion of the best LGBT content. :( Would iMore really be worse without this?

This is only one topic with mixed views, weather I agree with this or not. I won't judge the whole forum off one topic. Been on other forums and IMO IMore is still the best I've seen . There's a great group of people here that are willing to help at a drop of hat.
This thread is a good example of how members in This forum can have different opinions and still respect others.

Are you kidding me?

Would you say because a 7-11 or Quiktrip or Circle K carries pornographic magazines that THAT is what represents them as a company?

Hell, if we're going to go on that logic, why not just write off pretty much any grocery store in the country because they sell condoms! I mean surely that means their core value is centered around sexual activities, right?

Or how about drug stores? I mean they sell condoms, sexual lubricants, sexually charged magazines and even, at times, alcohol! I bet CVS's core marketing team sits around and goes "Let's make our stores about drunken sex and eye candy!"

Do you not see how ridiculous this is? iMore is not using this to maintain relevancy. And so what if they do it to attract readers? It's a part of life! Maybe not your life, or the next guys life, but SOMEONE's life has pornography within it, and the site is a technology based community with a focus on the iDevices from Apple...which can look up porno, and some people might want to know how to do that.

Seriously...some of you really REALLY need to take a step back and realize how you're making a mountain out of a mole hill. It's absurd and embarrassing really.

You'd think this was some kind of Deeply rooted Christian Abstinence community with the way some of you have responded.

Sean, the difference is that people go to a 7-11 or a, what did you call it, a QuickTrip for all different kinds of products, including pornographic material and condoms. Do people come to iMore for the same thing? Perhaps a survey was taken at some point and many said they'd like more discussion on sex and porn at iMore and iMore is just responding to what it's readership has requested. I didn't consider that.

People come to iMore to learn about all kinds of features on the iDevices...yes, including pornography (since it is capable of viewing it), so yes, in the same way people go to a gas station and MAY be going there to buy a porno mag, people come to iMore and MAY want to learn about viewing pornography on their iDevice.

There is no difference.

Okay. So, we'll see threads about how to best purchase guns and boats here too. Okay. I know I have a choice and as long as I choose to participate here than that is the choice I've made. I need to try to open my mind and realize that porn is okay to some people.

We did have a fire arms thread here at one point...as far as boats go, I can't see why a thread wouldn't be fine to have here as well, I mean we have a thread about the different kinds of cars people drive on iMore, so why should boats be any different?

And yes, I agree, you should open your mind that pornography is ok for some people, in the same way that eating fast food is ok to some people, or playing the lottery, or gambling on sports...

I can't wait for a similar thread to pop up at Android Central though. I wanna get some popcorn and enjoy that when the time comes.

There are plenty of places to find porn without posting it on iMore. I don't think that the average reader will say "I'm going to iMore and find out where to get porn".
