When I first saw this I laughed....YES, LAUGHED, but this thread needs to be removed ....IMHO
Hey folks,
We post all kinds of content for all kinds of readers. What we need to make sure we do is keep things that won't appeal to the general audience separate, of only those actively seeking it out will find it.
We've made some changes to make sure that, if we ever post about stuff like this in the future, there's no way anyone who doesn't want to see it will see it.
We do want to make sure that no majority, even vocal, prevents us from covering politics, religion, culture, or other things simply because they disagree with them or are different, but we do want to make sure nothing inappropriate for the wide audience gets shoved in front of them.
Apologies if we offended anyone, that was never our intent. And thank you for you feedback. That's what lets us make sure that every day we get better than the one before!
I cannot rebut any of this either Rene for fear of several things. My personal opinion on what I might say in my roll as an Ambassador on iMore and a member for a long time. I do however have the right to say the first part of your response was to defend it, The second part of your response was because there are many people who support this site both members and volunteers that keep this and the rest of Mobile nations the place it is and the majority of us just expect better than this type of thread.I also regret we don't get similar outrage when we post links to horror movies, Game of Thrones, or violent video games. I can't watch any of that stuff (literally makes me ill), but as a society we seem absolutely okay with it. (I don't in any way mean to equate any of those things with porn, but I do think many of our cultures are way more accepting of violence than they are of sex.)

I do however have the right to say the first part of your response was to defend it, The second part of your response was because there I'm not saying we wouldn't cover Game of Thrones or violent games or whatever — we do even though I personally don't like them — but I do kinda regret we don't get blasted for that too.
Well now who do you personally in your own opinion gave the green light to spitballing the ideas of articles to be written and when this came up, Who again I am asking you do you suppose gave the Green Light and Signed Off on this to be written especially knowing the sensitivity of material with no disclaimer? Is this not why we have guides for everything from Developers and the proper vway to post their apps and how they must conform, The guide on what you must do in the Marketplace before you can sell something and the criteria you must meet and the basic rules and regs of the forms rules?
What is the Difference here? is it because it had iMore logo on it and a staffer got the green light to move forward with it and now look where we ar. All I can say to you speedygi is WOW!!
Once again everyone has an opinion and your is duly noted. Thank you. From his flowing "in your face" defence and feigned "disgust" over themes of violent movies and television, I’d lay this whole mess at the feet of Rene Ritchie. He may not be the "owner", but he’s the face of iMore.
I’m no regular around here, but seems like an easy call to me.
Even if they did, more than likely it would be based on the honor system.I would imagine a site that's been around as long as iMore would have a system in place that prevents registered members who are younger then 18 to view these types of threads.

I don't think it was "feigned" disgust over themes of violent TV and movies because I feel the same way. Humanity would die off in one generation with no sex. Humanity would be much better off if there was no violence against other people or animals.
Is some porn disgusting and exploitative? Yes. But plenty of people enjoy watching extremely violent shows which I find pretty disgusting and exploitative of the actors and actresses involved as well.
When I comes to my kids, I have more concern over them being exposed to violence rather than sex. Of course, at 6 and 10, I'm not talking about porn but other violent or overt sexuality on TV or the movies. If my 10 year old daughter wanted to see a specific PG-13 or R rated movie I would be more likely to refuse an extremely violent movie than a movie with nudity and sex. Of course I would be reviewing the movie first before she saw it and not just allowing it, and discussing the implications of the movie as compared to real life regardless of whether the subject was sex or violence.
Boy am I proud to be a member here today. This is crap.
I have to date received in just emails alone no less the 6 so far that long standing members which everyone who has posted in this thread know very well have said to me Adios my friend but that was my last post and will never be back. Although I was upset to see good friends I have met here leave because of this, I have to respect their reason and freedom of choice for leaving. My only comment was they won and we all lost by losing members. I would however honor their reasons and them essentially telling me goodbye and I asked them to stay in touch. To me this is like building a bomb. It out there but do we really want to show everyone how to build it.
Say my son comes here looking for help with his phone. No intention of looking for porn because this is a family site and normal people don't come here looking for that. Well now that is on his mind because he came across it in the forum.
And no he isn't 18 and there is no chance in the world he would lie about his age to get on the net, sarcasm.
In the end for me this is just something I would rather not see on iMore.
I'm not going to throw a hissy fit or leave the site it's just how I feel.
I actually have not seen anyone cracking directly on any Moderator. It is mainly the Article, The Title and the Content that people are having a hard time dealing with and it is the right to do as they personally see fit.
