The sooner the better ! any reliance on a nation that constantly threatens you, steals from you and hacks you, is not a good idea !

Finally. Apple should have done this a long time ago.

In related news the Chinese just can’t seem to get enough of the new iPhone 14 pro and pro max.

FFR, do not post this! It runs counter to the iPhones walls are collapsing :).
Fyi, ETAs are now Dec 30. It pushed back two days in one calendar day. No way this was due to covid zero caused factory issues. It is guaranteed the iPhone pro output is rising. That is demand causing those ETAs to push further out.

iPhone 14 pro series is dominating in se Asia during the third quarter, Demand is simply off the charts. Can’t wait to see the fourth quarter results in January.

This is the chart for thailand

That chart right there is a ‘wow!’. That’s beyond domination, that’s ultra domination. The others will have to increase sales just to be considered swimming in Apple’s wake. And after a check right now, in one calendar day the IPhone pro ship dates have slipped from Dec 30th to Jan 4th. That’s not factory issues, that right there is demand.
Another Apple market bull just substantially lowered Apple’s q4 revenue estimate based on fallen iPhone shipments (due to covid zero enforcement at that specific factory). So I’m looking forward to Apple’s earnings report too. Someone is going to be wrong.

Apple and the iPhone are strangling android in the $600 and higher segment leaving crumbs for the rest of the industry.

Indeed we will have to wait to see q1 results in January. While apple is constrained with iPhone availability due to demand, profit margin will certainly rise due to the pro series accounting for the majority of sales this quarter. In China the sales breakdown for the 14 pro series reached 70% compared to 47% for the 13 series.

Nice China market info (as usual). And nearing the 600$ and above market is where the ‘juice’ is. Below that market is when one gets into profit levels that don’t sustain a thriving business. Comprise on the software, the hardware, on R&D have to happen. There’s precious few Googles out there that can release 6 straight years of phones that lose money.

Point of correction:12 years not 6, you are forgetting the nexus line that wasn’t profitable either.

Samsung is currently loosing the plot due to the iPhones success and their failures with the premium galaxy range of smartphones. Perhaps another restructuring is in order to hide the loss in revenue and profit from their DX (smartphone, tablet, wearable, pc, tv, consumer electronics, consumer appliances and networking business) division.
