Not really surprised. Ofcourse Foxconn refused building an iPhone 12 clone .

Edit: nothing only sold 500,000 smartphones in 2023, and they are mot profitable. While apple is projected to sell 220 million iPhones this year and the iPhone has most if not all the profits this year.

Nothing ceo also predicts the iPhone will have an 80% marketshare of all phones sold in the US in a couple of years. Looks like Foxconn made the right call and the ceo of nothing knew it.

No idea why this wasn’t reported by imore in the article.

Lol, how do you know IPhone is the king, a stratosphere beyond all competition? Tech storytellers on all subjects love to focus the story (and I do mean story) on -fill in the blank smartphone brand- is competing against the iPhone. Because as they know, big iOS numbers jump over to Android as soon a new Android smartphone is released. S22s, Pixels, Nothings, all killing the iPhone. Ah it must be very comforting to Samsung and others to know that new Android smartphones aren’t competing against them and won’t take any of their business. It’s against iPhone.

Nothing has deftly used media to show mega-corp Apple partner Foxconn wouldn’t work with them. Well played Nothing, free media. It’s otherwise a non story that a contract manufacturer would pass on a smallish order. But Nothing is not competing against Apple, full stop. They are loudly competing to be the Apple of Android—>to move Samsung and similar customers to Nothing. But none are Apple until they write their own OS. That’s it, full stop, though with apologies for hurting the ____ vs iPhone theme.
