Apple's fancy new MagSafe Battery Pack is now here and people can walk into an Apple Store and buy one. But the battery pack's come in for some hate for a few reasons — and all of that could have been avoided if Apple hadn't buried the lede when it announced this thing.

Apple definitely should have included this feature somewhere, if not in the lede. It's a great selling point.

I agree, and I like it MUCH better than the MagSafe 'puck' charger.

It’s been bugging me for awhile, and I just remembered that I have the ability to fix it, so I did! I do think that this is a neat featured!

Edited: see my post below… it turns out Lede is correct.

Thank you! The saying that “you learn something every day” definitely applies here! According to Merriam Webster: “ In journalism, the lede refers to the introductory section of a news story that is intended to entice the reader to read the full story. It appears most frequently in the idiom bury the lede. Our earliest examples of 'lede' come from the 1970s, around the time that Linotype machines began disappearing from newsrooms.”

I edited the word lede in the title to lead, and then went and changed it back to lede after learning that lede was correct.
