    Apple's new private relay feature announced as part of iCloud+ at WWDC 2021 will not be available in China, as well as Belarus, Colombia, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkmenistan, Uganda, and the Philippines.

    This iCloud Private Relay looks, smells, and feels very similar to a proxy server. The open source Squid proxy server is doing the same kind of stuff that Apples iCloud Private Relay servers are doing. Proxy servers automatically protect a users original IP address, and a lot more, including logging of web traffic, limiting users traffic, and they can even reroute a user from one web site to another web site, cache web sites. Proxy servers can do a lot more, but the protection of a users IP address is kind of built into every proxy server.
