    I created a truckload of mixtapes back in the day, especially during my stint as an active Marine. I agree with Lori in that they were personal and I treasured them dearly. I miss going to an actual record store to buy records and cassette tapes. (Sigh)

    That was cool back in the day. It was an adventure in discovering new music. Ahh, the good ol’ days (said in old man voice).

    However when they first introduced 8 track players in vehicles it was like wow I can play My music as I drive .

    That was awesome. Remembering another thing about 8-Track tapes is the notorious sound they made when changing sides... Chunk-chunk!!!

    I still have my Sony cassette tape deck. It must be at least 18+ years old, and almost like new. I have several old tapes I like to listen to from time to time. My Dad passed away in 1986, and like to hear his voice. Some of my tapes are 50 years old.

    I still have quite a few cassette tapes because I still have a cassette player in my work van.
    I much prefer the warmer sound that system produces.
