China is threatening restrictions and investigations against U.S. companies such as Apple, in response to U.S. measures against Huawei and ZTE.

On a side note, China is already banning beef from Australia. Beef exports to China bring Australia some $1.7 billion Australian dollars ($1.1 billion; €1 billion) each year. China doesn’t seem to be too happy right now with anyone.

This doesn’t make any sense whatsoever, most of, if not all the manufacturing is done in China. So the restrictions against Apple will hurt China and Chinese companies more than the US.

It doesn’t sound like China thought anything through.

That would have been better than shooting themselves in their own foot.

It might be particularly bad for the Chinese display maker BOE, they finally got an Apple contract for the iPhone 12 after years of trying and China is going ruin it.

    And that’s a surprise?
You are right. I might have been giving China too much credit.

Well ... if .. both us and china decide to block each other, both will hurt, sure, but who do u think will survive ? Which one is richer, not just in money, but resources and market potential as well ?

I’m not sure that’s where we want to go though. We all will do much better if we work together and share resources. Governments play games and people suffer.
