The newest 13-inch MacBook Pro should be celebrated for its Magic keyboard and better internals. Unfortunately, there's something about it that's annoying and sad.

Is it me? I mean the FaceTime camera on my 2017 MacBook Pro displays crystal clear video during the few times I may use it for FaceTime or video conferencing with a client. I’m not going to be walking around taking videos with it and I don’t need it to be as clear as my 65-inch 4K TV.

With that being said, yesterday, blogs lauded Apple for presenting the newest MacBook Pro with double the storage space, new keyboard, twice the RAM, etc., at the same price point as previous models. Yet, today there’s disappointment that the FaceTime camera is still at 720p as if it’s an old Zenith black and white. Seriously?

I know what you mean. It really does seem that some of iMore's writers are really into "Apple-Shaming"

The article states, “For years, for example, the company has insisted on having entry-level iPhones with 16GB of storage.”

Just to be clear, the original iPhone base model had 4GB of storage. The iPhone 3G, 3GS, 4 and 4S base models had 8GB of storage. The iPhone 5, 5C, 5S, 6, 6S and SE base models had 16GB of storage. The iPhone 7 base model had 32GB of storage. The iPhone 8, X, XS, XR and 11, 11Pro base models have 64GB of storage. For years the company has insisted on having entry level iPhones with 64GB of storage, also.

Am I missing something? I thought this was about the FaceTime camera on the MacBook Pro.

I thought so too. The writer quotes himself from another article comparing The 2020 MacBook Pro with previous iPhone models, taking to diminish Apple as lame.

Be very careful on how you use the word "writers" here. :-)
