Thanks for the post! I have been curious about this for a while as I have had issues in the past with corrupt backups (quite some time ago) so I have been a bit concerned about the local nature of the health Data. At the time I really wanted to do a clean iOS installation, but could not because I absolutely did not want to lose all of my hard earned health data. It's great that there's at least some options out there now, but I still remain hopeful that Apple will eventually allow this data to sync via iCloud (along with photos face detection data!) so that there is an off device copy of the data. I can understand the sensitivity around the data, but if it's an option, off by default but selectable by users then I don't see there being much of an issue myself. It would allow for perhaps a more detailed iPad Health app too!
