The iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus have set a new record for Apple pre-orders with more than four million advance orders for the new iPhones logged in the first 24 hours of availability. That smashes the previous pre-order record for iPhones, set two years ago by the iPhone 5s with 2 million pre-orders. The pent-up demand for the larger-screened iPhones seems to finally be spilling out, so much so that shipping times for many iPhone 6 models have slipped to a week or more, and all iPhone 6 Plus models have been pushed back to October for any new orders.
