Apple's SVP of Design Jony Ive will be recognized with the Bay Area Treasure Award by the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art. Past recipients of this lifetime achievement award include landscape architect Lawrence Halprin and George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars. The award will be presented at a dinner on October 30. Museum Director Neal Benezra praised Ive as one of his generation's most innovative designers in the award announcement:
