Curious, well, more nosy. On your iOS devices, do you have your iMessage and FaceTime On or Off?

I currently have mine, off. But, that's mainly because I was testing an Android device. Now I am curious about what others do...

I leave iMessage and Facetime on all the time. I have no reason to turn them off. Ivan, what sort of Android test did you do that required iMessage be off?

iMessage and FacTime didn't have to be off, per se'. But, the last time I used an Android for a few days, Contacts that had open iMessages with me, their message to me, would fail initially.

That's why I decided to turn it off, on this test. Saving me having to explain myself to them

I leave iMessage and Facetime on all the time. I have no reason to turn them off. Ivan, what sort of Android test did you do that required iMessage be off?

Any Android test. Leaving iMessage enabled and moving your SIM to an Android will cause a myriad of messaging issues.

My previous comment being stated, unless I’m moving over to an Android with my main SIM, iMessage and FaceTime stay enabled.

I have iMessages and FaceTime on. I also turned on Wi-Fi Calling for all my iOS devices. It is very handy.

iMessage and FaceTime on at all times, but understand OP somewhat. Recently thought I’d move on from iOS. Knowing iMessage and FaceTime would be hardest adjustments for me I turned them off for a few days as a test. For me, not having iMessage and FaceTime after all these years was a nightmare. Lasted two days before reactivating.

I get that! My sister reminded me when I griped about her calling me at an inopportune time that I didn't have to answer the call (or text, for that matter) immediately. That's what voicemail is for, and texts can wait as well. But, I have to admit, it's hard for me to do, so I often put my phone/watch on silent.
