Texting problem

I have a problem with my iphone. I am texting my friend that has a moto android phone and when we use text messaging, sometimes my phone cuts out like half of the message. Is there something either of us can do to remedy this?

SMS messaging has character limits between 70 and 160 characters, I believe. If you go over that amount frequently, it's possible that parts of the message appear lost or come in late or out of sequence. Still, consider contacting your wireless carrier to investigate.

If you need to send a message that long, either use email or use your iPhone to make a phone call. It will do that.

Hmmm.....not sure if it made the iOS 12 deadline. Hopefully iOS 13.

I used to get around the sms character limit by using mms instead. But that was on a flip phone. Not sure it's possible on smartphones.
