I'm on 11.2.1 on my 8 plus and wife is on 11.2.5 on her 6s.

We have 2 different bugs on iMessage.

8 plus- A notification comes out when a message comes in. If I don't check it, a notification sounds again and the screen lights up even though no new message came in. Keeps happening till I check the notification

6s - The order of messages are jumbled. It's not in the order the messages were sent or received.

Are these known bugs or something that can be resolved without an update or reset?

I haven't experienced anything like that to this point. With that in mind, I have come across a thread discussion about iMessages being out of order. Still, iMessages are not out of order on my iPhone X.

I don't think this is a bug. If it is, then I like it. Sometimes when the fam and I are "chatting" during the day and I get a notification of a new message and don't check it right away, it will notify me again in a few moments. I actually like this because sometimes I get distracted and need that extra reminder.

This is known but I don't know if there's a "fix" in the works or not. Not a big deal to me as the messages may not be in exact order but the conversation is there.

See this thread that was also started.

As for the 2nd beep on your 8 plus, you can turn that off. Go to Notifications>Messages>Repeat Alerts (you must scroll down to the bottom) and select Never.

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the replies.
@Annie. I have kept repeat alerts as Once. But the repeat notification keeps happening till I check the message. That's why I think it's a bug.

That would be very frustrating. You may want to submit feedback to Apple.

Mine is on Never, my husbands is on once. It drives me nuts, and I've even offered to fix it for him. He always says no, and reminds me that it is HIS phone! LOL!

@Annie you would really like my home set-up then ! I usually have 3 devices on, all of which differ in age and speed so I get 3 time separated pings.... twice!!

But it's can't be called "fix" because it's not "broken". :)
